Hi crafty sisters and friends!
This is Lisa. I pretend to be crafty, and sometimes I really can be. Here's a recent craft I made using my Cricut!
To make this, I first got 12 x 12 squares of wood from the Home Depot. The wood actually comes in a much larger size than that, but they will cut it for you to whatever size you want. The first two cuts are free, and then they charge for each cut after that.
I sanded the wood and then spray painted it black. Then I used scrapbook paper and ribbon to "mock up" what I wanted each letter block to look like. I cut the "H-O-M-E" using my Cricut and red vinyl. I used double-stick tape to stick the scrapbook paper onto each wooden block. I used glue dots to stick on the ribbon. And the vinyl itself sticks on to the paper like a sticker.
The vinyl actually comes with instructions for doing a "kiss cut" which means that the cut goes through the vinyl, but not through the vinyl backing. So when you're ready to stick on your letters, you just peel it off the backing and stick it on. Just like a large sticker. I love it.
And there you go!
